Wissenschaftliche Laufbahn
- 1983-1991 Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter, später (umgenannt) Universitärer Dozent Alte Kirchengeschichte, Patristik und Dogmengeschichte an die Katholische Theologische Hochschule (später umgenannt Universität) zu Amsterdam.
- Ab 1980 Zugefügter Dozent Patristik und Oekumenik am Altkatholischen Seminar, Utrecht. 1992-2000 Universitärer Dozent in der Kirche- und Dogmengeschichte der Frühmittelalterlichen Theologie und ihre Quellen an der Katholische Theologische Universität zu Utrecht.
- 1992-2000 außerordentlicher Professor in der Theologie der Charismatischen Erneuerung an der Freien Universität zu Amsterdam.
- Ab 2000 Ordinarius in Bern. 2004-2006 Dekan.
- Ab Juni 2008 krankheitshalber definitiv beurlaubt.

- Seit 1971 Priester der Altkatholischen Kirche.
- 1974-1976 Kaplan von St. Peter's Wolvercote, eine Anglikanische Kirche in Oxford.
- 1978-1982 Altkatholischer Pfarrer zu Haarlem.
- Seit 1995 Kanonikus des Metropolitankapitels von Utrecht.
