Mentoring Program

The Mentoring Program of the Faculty of Theology aims at promoting junior researchers. It offers an introduction to the scientific community and to written and unwritten rules and mechanisms of academic research. It promotes formal and informal networking and therefore grants access to relevant information.

In 2012, the Mentoring Program, which was then only open to women, started for the first time at the Faculty of Theology and has been carried out 4 times since. Until the beginning of the third round of mentoring in spring 2017, the program is open to women and men. The Mentoring Program will start for the fifth time in September 2019.The program elements will be offered in English if required.

1-3 ECTS can be acquired for participation in the Mentoring Program.

The One-to-One-Mentoring is helpful in the many clarifications and decisions that affect the course of an academic career. The mentees will have a mentor that helps them to reflect on their individual career steps and who will support them to enlarge their network. The mentors will focus on transferring their experience to mentees and promote them to acquire the necessary tools in order to understand how to plan and pursue a successful academic career.
